Ponsel Jatuh

Ponsel jatuh tentu bukan masalah baru, dan biasanya hal itu terjadi karena unsur ketidaksengajaan. Terjatuhnya ponsel bahkan bisa menjadi masalah permanen, apalagi jika terjadi berulang-ulang. Tanpa sengaja ponsel kita terjatuh, karena ponsel terjatuh maka ponsel bisa saja mati, setelah itu kita coba nyalakan kembali ponsel kita tetapi ponsel tidak mau nyala kembali alias mati total.

Berikut prosedur perbaikannya :

Hindari untuk langsung memeriksa dan menguji ponsel dengan power supply, hal ini dimaksudkan untuk mencegah hubungan pendek antar komponen ataupun modul dalam ponsel. Sebab kemungkinan besar setelah ponsel terjatuh maka letak daripada komponen ataupun modul dalam ponsel berubah dan tidak pada tempatnya, inilah yang dikuatirkan bisa menyebabkan hubungan pendek antar komponen ataupun modul dalam ponsel.

Jadi usahakan terlebih dahulu ponsel tersebut harus dibongkar, dipanasi (diblower), kemudian kita reposisi kembali letak atau posisi dari tiap-tiap komponen ataupun modul yang berubah letaknya sebagai akibat dari ponsel yang terjatuh tadi.

Setelah kita membongkar, memanasi, dan mereposisi semua letak komponen ataupun modul pada tempatnya maka barulah kita boleh menggunakan power supply untuk memeriksa dan menguji ponsel kita apakah kerusakan terletak pada softwarenya atau hardwarenya.
Kemungkinan besar komponen yang rusak sebagai akibat dari ponsel yang terjatuh tadi adalah IC PA atau IC Power.

Namun jika jarum skala ampere pada power supply naik sekitar ± 50 mili ampere saat tombol 'on' pada ponsel ditekan, berarti kerusakan terletak pada softwarenya ponsel. Kita lakukan program ulang (flash) pada ponsel sesuai dengan jenis dan versi ponsel anda saat ini atau kita bisa melakukan proses upgrade versi software ke versi software yang lebih tinggi dari versi ponsel anda sebelumnya.

Benefits Of Digital Linear Tape Drives

In our world where data is power, large companies put a high priority on their data back-up and data storage. Unfortunately, this kind of data storage is typically very expensive and impractical for the small home PC user. Luckily, with the introduction of two new formats of digital storage that are now available, there is a solution. With the DLT or Digital Linear Tape and the LTO or Linear Tape Open, the need for data storage has far exceeded past levels (as compared to previous had 8mm or DDS backups).

1. Recent Boost In Performance

The Digital Linear Tape or DLT systems have been available for use to everyone since 1985, and recent increases in both speed and capacity has given this technology a new lease on life. In fact, they have been the leading technology in the past several years for small to medium-sized systems. The only competitors for DLT were DDS or DAT tapes. The advantage of DLT tapes above these two leading competitors is that the tape heads had a tendency to drift that meant technicians had to constantly monitor them to ensure storage. Unlike DLT reliability that is based on a straight up and down recording mode.

2. Super DLT

A newer version with higher capacity and improved features is called Super DLT (SDLT). Super DLT uses a new recording format, but it also maintains a limited form of backwards compatibility with previous iterations of DLT. It incorporates the ability to read older tapes, although it cannot write to them. This means it would probably be quite useful in allowing organizations to maintain their present archives in a useable form. This would mean that there can be a very big saving both in time and money for companies because older tapes don't have to be re-recorded onto newer ones.

4. Tremendous Boost In Speed And Capacity

With the introduction of Super DLT earlier this year, the capacity has soared as much as 110 gigabytes on one cartridge, at a speed of 10 megabytes per second. A tremendous boost in performance was seen with the speed of backup doubled, and capacity more than doubled, the technology is now capable to handle large systems and networks that DLT previously couldn't handle. Competing technologies can offer very fast backups, but the tapes themselves contain very little data - hundreds of megabytes as opposed to the hundreds of gigabytes that DLT offers.

5. Linear Tape Open

Another technology that has recently emerged that is comparable, if not a bit more advanced than DLT is LTO or Linear Tape Open. A consortium product from Seagate, IBM and Hewlett-Packard. LTO can put 100 gigabytes on a cartridge and can store data at speeds up to 15 megabytes per second. But there are a lot who still prefer to use the more known and reliable Super DLT. There are very cautious system administrators who don't wish to try LTO, one technician even said that DLT is a more than acceptable choice: Thirty million cartridges and a million tape drives can't be wrong. Of course, LTO can’t be totally neglected. Of course, Super DLT uses a good deal of new technology as well, so even though LTO is a completely new technology, it has able to pave a nice pathway for it that may help establish itself for future preference.

6. Long Life

These kinds of storage media are guaranteed to last for 30 years of data retention under very specific environmental conditions; however, mishandling can easily damage these storage devices for example, dropping or improper packaging during shipment may easily damage or destroy the device’s capability to store data properly. With today's ever increasing demands for storage capacity because of our need to protect and store our data, it is possible that there is going to be more pressure on hardware developers to produce a lot more faster and bigger storage and backup devices to back up, store, protect and retrieve important data be it business or personal. Now both medium and small size users are given a choice: Super DLT, based on generations of thorough development and refinement, or LTO, a new technology from a high-powered and stable group of advance technological companies.

Accessibility is a concern for long term maintenance when choosing a rack-mount enclosure. Cleaning and Organizing Your Computer

It is a good idea to think of your PC as an office.  It stores files, programs, pictures.  This can be compared to an actual office's files, machines and decorations.  The operating system is the boss.  With this image in mind, think of an office you've visited that was slow and inefficient.  There were probably many different reasons for the inefficiency.  This is the same with a computer.   There can be many items that slow down your computer.  Perhaps the one most commonly overlooked is disorganization and clutter.

Disk Cleanup

An office can accumulate a lot of unnecessary files, machines, and decorations.  This is the same with your computer.  One of the best ways to keep this clutter under control is to perform a cleaning utility periodically.  In Windows this cleaning utility will be called a "disk cleanup."  It removes a variety of unnecessary files depending on the options you have selected.

To perform a disk cleanup on Windows XP you can simply click on "my computer" under the start menu.  Than right click on your "c drive" or "hard disk" and choose properties.   Than click "disk cleanup" and follow the prompts.  When selecting files to clean up, or delete, Windows will give you information to help you decide.  When looking over the list of file types, you would simple click on the name of the file type and read the description placed below in the description area.  This will let you know if the files can be safely deleted.  To select the file group just check the box next to the group name.  When finished selecting press "OK" to finish.

Now, performing a disk cleanup is not very time consuming, just a couple minutes, and it may save more time in the end by making your computer run faster.  However, a disk cleanup should be run periodically rather than just once in a great while.  One way to make this run periodically is to make it a scheduled task.  This will allow your computer to run it automatically with intervals and time of day determined by you.  Yet, you can always run it yourself periodically without creating a scheduled task.

Add or Remove Programs

The information given above can help you get rid of some unnecessary files, but you may also need to clean out some unnecessary programs as well.  This can be done using the "add or remove programs" utility in Windows.  This is located in the control panel and lists all of your currently installed programs along with an option to uninstall them.  It is a good idea to browse through the add or remove programs utility every once in a while just to make sure that all programs are of usefulness.  

If there are programs listed that are no longer used, you can simply highlight the program and click the uninstall button.  Windows will than begin the process to uninstall the program.  In most cases, to finish uninstalling a program, it is wise to restart your computer.  This will dump and files that are held temporarily.  

The add or remove programs utility is very useful, but not all of the programs are listed up front.  Programs that come pre-installed on your computer and the Windows operating system can also be uninstalled.  For instance, Outlook Express is a default e-mail program that comes with the Windows XP operating system.  If you do not use this e-mail program you can uninstall it. Click "add or remove windows components" found in the add or remove programs utility and simply follow the instructions.

Defragment

Many offices contain a large number of files and programs that are valuable and cannot be thrown away.  In fact, they may contain files that are not even used, but still have to be retained for some reason.  Although these files must remain in the office, they need to be organized.  This is why we create file folders that hold groups of files that are related.  Than we store them in cabinets that are arranged in alphabetic order.

In a computer, the files that are saved are placed on the hard drive.  However, they are placed according to the time that they were saved.  So, if you open a word document and save the file as "file A" and than open another document and save it as "file B", you have a "file A" placed next to "file B."  This is fine, but if you open "file A" later on and save it again, than the added information is saved next to "file B."  

When files are broken up this way it is referred to as a fragmented file.  This means that the computer must find the first part of the file and then find the second part of the file to open that one word document.  This can make your computer run slower.  However, Windows has created a utility that is meant to rearrange files so that they are no longer fragmented but sit right next to each other.

You can run the disk defragmenter by selecting "all programs" under the start button.  Next, select "accessories" and "system tools" and you will see "disk defragmenter."  In fact, this is also an alternative way to select the disk cleanup mentioned earlier.  Before starting the defragmenter you can analyze your hard drive to see if Windows recommends performing the defragmenter.  It will either say that you should or should not defragment at this time.  

If you need to defragment your computer, simply hit the defragment button.  It may take your computer a while to finish this task depending on the speed of your computer and the amount of defragmented files.  It could take from about 15-30 minutes or more.  However, you can still use the computer while the disk defragmenter is working.
