QVGA Specifications

also known as Quarter VGA screen size and resolution of measurement. This measure and the resolution is more commonly used for PDAs, mobile phones and portable games. These screens tend to be oriented in portrait rather than landscape orientation that people are accustomed to on TV or computer screens.

The term is related to the VGA standard size and resolution screen as determined by IBM in 1980. This standard screen size is 640 X 480. This standard has been used since then as a standard method for measuring the resolution and screen size. This has become the standard and the basic measurement of what all the computer screens and televisions would use later. All increases or decreases in the side would be done in relation to such specifications as shown below. An example of this is the Quarter VGA.

The neighborhood term refers to a quarter of something. A quarter means a quarter of a dollar. A quarter of a year is a quarter of a year. This applies to the Quarter VGA, which means that the standard screen is then a quarter of the size of the screen standard. The orientation is not mentioned in the present and even if it is simply a conniving saving space for the manufacture of mobile phones or PDAs.

It should be noted that qVGA technology is not necessarily compatible with the full VGA technology. This means that you can not take a shot and make it fit the QVGA VGA screen without causing elongation and distortion. The reverse is also true, you can not take a shot and turn it into a VGA screen qVGA no distortion, no matter what the software.

Another aspect that should be mentioned qVGA is on the Quad VGA which means that the measurements would be four times greater than that of the original VGA. For this reason, much of the software and hardware that is linked to the fourth VGA is noted as QVGA and the software that is four times larger than the standard VGA is noted as QVGA.
